If cleverbridge is unable to update the credit card information of a customer using the Account Updater, the Expiration Date Checker verifies whether this is due to an expired credit card date. The tool determines the new expiration date of the credit card based on rules and/or logic.
The determined expiry date is validated using a card check transaction:
- If the validation of the determined expiry date is successful, the customer's credit card information is updated. A history entry is made, which you can view in the History section of the Purchase viewer.
- If the validation is not successful, the cleverbridge platform automatically sends an email to the customer of the type Subscription > Reminder > Payment expiration. It asks the customer to update his payment details.
