About Revenue Tracking with X-Parameters

In addition to using regular parameters to track common information about purchases, such as location, language, and date, you can use the flexibility of x-parameters to track further information about the origin of orders. Thanks to their flexibility, it is highly recommended that you make use of x-parameters when using the Cleverbridge platform.

Examples of information you can track are origins of orders from:

  • Affiliates
  • Email campaigns
  • Paid search campaigns

Revenue Tracking Setup

By using Revenue Tracking Setup in the Commerce Assistant, you can define both the parameter name and its corresponding value for additional information of your choice. This is called defining key/value pairs.

X-parameterClosed The x-parameter is a variable appended to a URL that allows grouping and tracking orders for later reporting purposes. It also enables you to pass through data that you want to capture in the order process. X-parameters can also be used to control design elements based on the value of the x-parameter. reporting can be viewed in the Commerce Assistant reporting tool or in Business Intelligence.

X-parameter reporting is found in the Reporting tool, in Promotions and Recommendations, Tracking, Revenue.

Business Intelligence Reporting

X-parameter reporting only works in Business Intelligence once a revenue tracking tree has been set up in the Commerce Assistant Revenue Tracking Setup tool. Once you create the hierarchy within the revenue tracking tool, the assigned directories and sub-directories will be accessible with Business Intelligence.
