Checkout Flow

A flow is the series of pages in your checkout process from beginning to end. Cleverbridge offers certain variations of a flow, such as how many and which pages to display to customers in the checkout process.

Page Types

There are three types of pages in a flow:

Checkout page Contains shopping cart items, customerClosed An individual or business purchasing your product or service by placing an order through Cleverbridge. The customer is the end user of this product, as they are not allowed to resell the purchased products or services. ​ A customer is unique per client. If a customer purchases products or services from two different clients, there are 2 separate records of said customer.​ data, and paymentClosed Exchange of money for goods and services in an acceptable amount to the customer where the payment amount has been agreed upon in advance. The customer can only pay with an accepted payment method. Each payment has an individual payment cost. options. The checkout information can be on one web page or split into two or more pages.
Review pageClosed The review page contains summary information about the purchase a customer is about to make.

Contains summary information before the customer makes the purchaseClosed An order made by a customer and the records associated with it.. The customer can review the information and make changes, if necessary.

Flows may or may not include a review page. By leaving out a review page and shortening the orderClosed An agreement between a seller and a buyer to exchange goods and/or services for money. An order can: - contain multiple products and quantities; - have multiple financial transactions. A preorder authorization is considered an order. process, you can possibly significantly increase the conversion rate. However, legal restrictions in some regions and countries, such as the European Union, require that a review page is included.

Confirmation pageClosed The confirmation page is displayed after a customer makes a purchase. The confirmation page contains the order confirmation and delivery information.

Contains order confirmation and delivery information after the customer makes the purchase. Customers can download more specific information about the order or the delivery instructions.

All flows have a confirmation page at the end of the checkout process.

Flow Design

The flow design should be based on your knowledge of your customers and their regional preferences. It’s possible that you have several different flows based on regional variations.

There are several possibilities for how to design the checkout process flow. the Cleverbridge Client Experience team works with you to set up the flow that is right for your business needs. After that, this information is given to our design team to customize and build your checkout configuration.

Here are the most common types of flows which our clients integrate:

Two-Page Flow

A two-page flow includes all checkout information on one checkout page, followed by the confirmation page. This flow is a good option if you want to direct customers from a product page directly to the checkout process.

A review page can be added to this flow.

Due to legal requirements, all checkout configurations used for customers in the European Union must include a review page.

Three-Page Flow

A three-page flow includes checkout information on two different checkout pages, followed by the confirmation page. This flow is a good option if you want to direct customers from a product page directly to the checkout process.

Shopping Cart Page before the Checkout Process

If you have a shopping experience where customers browse through your products and add them to the shopping cart, you can include a shopping cart page before the checkout process.

Note

The checkout process begins with the first page that requires customer data input.
