A commission configuration defines a commission rate for affiliates. You can configure the commission rates as percentages of product prices for individual affiliates.

The commission configurations can be based on individual products or on a product list. There is no limit to the number of commission configurations that can be created. A configuration can be applied to many affiliates or affiliate groups at once. A commission configuration is later assigned to approved affiliates.

You can set different rates for different types of affiliates, such as an introductory commission for new affiliates and tiered rates for affiliates that achieve sales benchmarks. However, you must monitor the benchmarks yourself and manually assign an affiliate with a higher commission level.

Example

A commission hierarchy is one example of a commission configuration. You give new affiliates a starter configuration with a 20% commission rate. Based on their performance, affiliates can progress to an intermediate configuration of 30% commission, or a star configuration of 50% commission.
