Offer a Product with Several Languages

The following is a business case example of setting up a product with several languages in the shopping cart.

Shieldware, Inc. sells products in the European market including Belgium, a country with three official languages:

  • French
  • Dutch
  • German

Therefore, Shieldware offers Soap, its cleaner utility software, in multiple languages which is particularly helpful as it can positively impact their revenue in a country like Belgium. Customers can then choose the language version best suitable to them. In this use case, all language versions have the same price.

To achieve this use case, use our Variations feature in the Subscription Commerce Manager, our web admin tool.

With Variations, you can set up different options for a product in the cart from which the customerClosed An individual or business purchasing your product or service by placing an order through Cleverbridge. The customer is the end user of this product, as they are not allowed to resell the purchased products or services. A customer is unique per client. If a customer purchases products or services from two different clients, there are 2 separate records of said customer. can choose, such as:

  • Version
  • Language
  • License period
  • Number of licenses
  • Subscription billing intervals

The customer makes a selection and then continues the checkout process for that selection.

Example

In the following cart, customers can select from different language versions of the product. The example shows a customer selecting the French version of the product, which comes with a higher value than the Dutch or German version as the customer only speaks French, in this case.
