Manage tax exemptions

The Tax Exemptions dashboard in our web admin tool provides an overview of tax-exempt purchases and is used to handle and solve tax exemption issues as they occur. It gives you the following options:

Search for a tax exemptions document

Choose a parameter under Parameter 1 to narrow down your search and locate the desired tax exemption document.

The Document Status field provides information about whether the tax exemption document has been validated. Possible values are: New, In Review, Valid, or Expired.

Add a tax exemption document

To add a tax exemption document, follow these steps:

  1. On the purchase overview page, click the Add Tax Exemption Document button. The Add Tax Exemption Document window opens.

The Add Tax Exemption Document button is exclusively accessible within the Tax Exemptions section.

  1. Select options from the provided drop-down menus:

General

FieldDescription
Reason for ExemptionReason for the tax exemption.
Tax ID TypeType of ID used for tax exemption.
Tax IDUnique Tax ID to identify the company.
Date Certificate IssuedDate when the exemption certificate was issued for the company.
State of IssueFederal state where the tax exemption document has been issued.
Expiration DateDate the exemption of the company expires.
AttachmentThis field is clickable. Click on it to upload/view the tax exemption document.

You can update, validate, and flag tax exemption documents as invalid. Utilize the ... button to validate or mark documents as invalid.

Expired documents are displayed in the Valid/Expired section of the tax exemption documents table:

Contact

FieldDescription
CompanyName of the company to which the tax exemption document has been assigned.
Type of BusinessType of business entity to whom the tax exemption has been issued.
First NameFirst name of the company's contact person.
Last NameLast name of the company's contact person.
EmailEmail address of the tax exempt company.
PhonePhone number of the company.
AddressAddress of the company.
StateState of the company.
Zip/Postal CodeZip/Postal code of the company.
CityCity where the company is located.
  1. Enter additional information in the optional Notes field.

  2. Click Save & Close to complete the process.
