Swedish Real-Time Banking Phase-Out

Effective immediately, Swedish Real-Time Banking is no longer available as a payment option. Swedish banks are discontinuing this service as other payment methods are preferred. For alternative payment solutions, contact Client Experience.

Why this is important: Customers can no longer select Swedish Real-Time Banking. Renewals will result in awaiting offline payment, and customers will need to choose another payment type.

Local Tax ID Field in Portugal

In addition to an optional VAT ID for businesses, Cleverbridge now collects the optional local Tax ID during checkout. This Tax ID is printed on the customer’s invoice.

Enhanced Don’t Leave Layers for Checkout Pages

You can now set up a Don’t Leave Layer (DLL) in the Cleverbridge platform using a modern template. DLLs are pop-up windows that appear when customers attempt to exit the checkout process without completing it, offering discounts to incentivize purchase completion.

Payment Option Change for Return Debit Orders

Customers can now select their preferred payment option for return debit orders instead of being limited to wire transfers. Payment method changes are processed automatically.

Cleverbridge added additional information to Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) reminder emails, including product name and price, helping customers easily identify and complete their purchases.

Cleverbridge now submits account updater requests six days before the next billing date, ensuring credit card information is up-to-date before recurring billing.

Get Next Billing Amount by API

The Get Subscription API now returns the next billing amount, including gross, net, and taxes for both the subscription and individual products. This feature allows you to display the next billing amount in your customer self-service portal.

Cleverbridge introduced new filters for email campaigns, allowing more precise targeting by region, language, initial order vs. renewal, or payment method.

Subscription Price Updates No Longer Require SCA

Cleverbridge modified the logic for Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) to treat subscription price updates as merchant-initiated transactions (MIT), exempting them from SCA requirements.

Why this is important: Treating subscription price updates as MITs reduces involuntary churn by eliminating unnecessary authentication steps.

Automatic Notification for SCA Requirement

Cleverbridge now offers a notification event that triggers when a purchase or recurring payment requires SCA but hasn’t yet been authenticated. This allows you to track and store relevant data in your systems.
