Manage a partner
You can use the Partner Portal in Commerce Assistant to manually add, view, and edit partners.
It’s best for your partners to register themselves through the online sign-up form, instead of you manually entering them in Commerce Assistant.
You can avoid duplicates in Commerce Assistant if they register themselves. Also, because they could be working with multiple Cleverbridge clients, if they register themselves they can manage their relationships with all clients in one place.
Add a partner

In the main menu of Commerce Assistant, select Channel Management > Add Partner. The Partner Portal opens.

Enter information in the following sections:
General
You can use the General section of the Partner Portal to enter the following settings for a partner:
- Partner type: The partner type classifies the partner according to the partner's business model. For more information about the business models, see Partner types.
- Partner/affiliate group: A partner/affiliate group is used to group affiliates and partners for reporting purposes. Click the add icon button to add a new partner/affiliate group.
- Status: The status controls whether a partner can log in to the Partner Portal. The statuses include: Status | Description | ----- | ----- | Accepted | Partner is approved to log in to the Partner Portal, apply for partner programs, and build links to generate commissions. | In Review | Partner is waiting for you to approve or reject the registration. The status is automatically set to In Review when the partner applies through the online registration form. | Rejected | Partner's registration request was denied. |
- Valid until: This option controls how long the partner is active. Select this option and enter a date and time for partners you intend to work with for a limited time period.
- Price configuration: Select a price configuration for the partner. A price configuration specifies the discount that the partner receives. Click the add icon button to add a new price configuration.
- Purchase order limit: The purchase order limit establishes the maximum total price of a purchase order for the partner. Enter the limit and select a currency.
If the purchase order limit is left at 0, the purchase order option is deactivated. The limit must be changed to a positive number in order to activate the purchase order option for your partners.
- Activate fraud protection: Fraud protection ensures that suspicious orders that come from the partner are inspected by the Cleverbridge anti-fraud team. However, only a very small percentage, if any, of the total incoming orders must be inspected. Fraud protection is carried out quickly–usually within 20 minutes of an order being placed.
Deactivate fraud protection only if it is important that none of the partner's orders are delayed due to inspection. If you have any questions, contact orderstatus@cleverbridge.com before un-checking this box.
- Currency: This option controls the default payment currency for the partner.
- Catalog: This option sets the catalog for the partner, which controls which products the partner can buy. Click the add icon button to add a new catalog.
Login
The Login section stores the Partner Portal username and password of the partner.
a. Enter the username of the partner.
b. Enter and confirm a login password for the partner.
c. Click Save.
Contacts
You can use the Contacts section to enter contact information settings for a partner.
General
Enter general information for the partner. You can set up different contacts for billing, delivery, and licensee issues. Click Different Billing Contact, Different Delivery Contact, or Different Licensee Contact to set them up individually.
You can enter non-romanized language information for the user's company name, first name, and last name in the Original tab.If you need a romanized version, click Romanize and Commerce Assistant automatically translates this information in the Romanized tab. Enter katakana information in the Katakana tab; this is a character set which helps transcribe foreign words into Japanese.
Address
Enter the partner's address.
Email and phone numbers
Enter the partner's email address and phone and fax numbers.
Parameters
You can use the Parameters section to store the x-parameters that are part of the link that the partner used when signing up. For more information about x-parameters, see Track Orders and Monitor Revenue.
Notes
You can use the Notes section to enter comments and extra information about a partner.
a. Enter data in the Notes field.
b. Click Save.
View a partner

In the main menu of Commerce Assistant, select Channel Management > Partners. The Partners search opens.

Search for the partner you want to view.

Select the partner line item in the search results.

Click Open.
If you are a reseller with partner accounts under the same email address for two (or more) different resellers, then you see a drop-down menu in the top-right corner where you can toggle between the various clients with whom you have accounts.
