Sometimes customers need to cancel—plans change, budgets shift, priorities evolve. When leaving is simple and transparent, they depart with a great last impression, remember the experience, and are more likely to return, renew, or recommend you.

This section covers cancellation in both Subscription Management 1.0 and Subscription Management 2.0. We keep 1.0 guidance for legacy flows, but 2.0 is our recommended, modern experience: a polished self-service portal with a clear Turn off auto-renew control, and configurable Cancellation Flows that can offer alternatives, incentives, and helpful guidance, so you reduce churn without blocking the door.
