Use SCM Link Generator

The SCM Link Generator is used to build destination URLs that direct customers to Cleverbridge-hosted web pages. Use the link on your website, in business emails,and in your marketing materials.

To access the functionality, navigate to Configure > Tools > Link Generator. Link management steps and capabilities for Checkout 2.0. link destination differ from other available links. Please check the tab that corresponds to your needs.

To create a link, follow these steps:

  1. Build a link.
  1. Copy the link.
  1. Go to Configure > Tools > Link Generator.
  2. Select Add Checkout 2.0 link.

  3. Select a checkout configuration.
  4. Define the link settings.

Pick the Configuration you want this link to use. All configurations available for your account are available in the dropdown menu.

Define the following settings:

Products & pricing details

Add products to the cart and set quantities for each one.

To add products:

  1. In Products & Pricing, select Add Product.
  2. Select one or more products in the picker, then click OK.

  3. The products appear in the list on the left.

Use the column search to filter the picker list.

For each added product, set Quantity in Cart.
The URL preview updates as you change values.

Product selections and their details can be added in the Products & Pricing area of the link-generation flow to offer variations of a single product, so customers can choose between options in the cart.

Selections are defined in Configure > Selection Text as described in the Add selections section.

To add a product selection to your link:

  1. Start generating a link.
  2. Go to Products & Pricing.
  3. Click Add Product.
  4. In the selector, switch to the Selection Text tab.
  5. Check the selections to add. You can filter by any column.

The selection appears in the list on the left with your other items.

After adding a selection, you can adjust:

  • Selected Product: The product that is added to the cart when this selection is chosen. By default, the first product in the selection hierarchy is used. Choose a different product from the drop-down list if needed.
  • Quantity: Define the Quantity in Cart, Minimum Quantity, and Maximum Quantity for the selection.

Clone and delete products and product selections

After you add a product or a product selection, it appears in the list on the left side of Products & Pricing.

You can:

  • Delete an item — Hover over its name and click the bin icon.
  • Clone an item — Hover over its name and click the copy icon. A duplicate appears in the list with the same settings. You can then change Selected Product and Quantity independently in each copy.

Deleting items here only removes them from this link. It does not affect your product catalog or your Selection Text configuration.

Use recommendations and apply coupon codes to your link.

  1. Turn on Use recommendations.
  2. Click Select Recommendations, then choose the recommendations to include.
  3. Click Submit.

Only recommendations compatible with the selected product(s) will display at checkout.

Enter a Coupon code to include it in the URL so the discount is applied automatically. You can also enable the coupon code entry field in the cart if you want customers to enter a code themselves.

In Additional Parameters, localize the experience for your audience.

Click the field and select the item that will be predefined at the checkout.

This includes:

  • Country
  • Language
  • Currency

that will be preselected when the customer follows the link.

Add details of a new customer

When the New Customer tab is selected, you can add the details of a new customer. This includes customer billing, delivery, or licensee contact information to be pre-filled in the cart.

Select the type of contact details

There are three types of contact details available:

Contact TypeDescription
BillingPerson or company that purchases the software or signs up for the subscription. Their contact information is used for communication about payments. They receive the invoice (receipt) email after a purchase.
DeliveryPerson or company to whom the software or service is delivered. Their contact information is used for physical shipments, electronic delivery, and communication concerning the delivery of licensing information.
LicenseePerson or company that the software license is registered to. Their contact information is used for generating the licensing information.

Choose a corresponding tab at the top to select the type of contact.

Once you have filled in contact details for at least one of the types, you can copy it to another one using the Paste from option.

Handle Non-Romanized Details

You can enter the details in different versions.

  • Original: Use the language used by the customer. For example, enter the details with Polish, German or Greek alphabets, use Cyrillic, etc.
  • Katakana: Use the Katakana set if you need to transcribe the information into Japanese
  • Romanized: Use the Romanized version of the original details.

Add extra parameters in key=value format. Separate multiple pairs with &.

When the Destination URL looks correct, copy it from the header.

  • Click Copy Link and Stay to copy the URL and continue editing.
  • Open the overflow menu () and choose Copy Link and Close to copy the URL and exit the builder.
  • You can also click the clipboard icon next to the URL to copy it directly.

Keep links under 2,000 characters for browser compatibility. Test the link in a private/incognito window to confirm products, language, and currency are applied as expected.
