Display language in cart

Your customers can view content in multiple languages. The display language on the checkout pages is automatically determined by their browser's default language. However, customers can manually select a different language using the Language drop-down menu on the checkout pages.

You can use Language-supported fields in Commerce Assistant (CA) and the Manage Languages feature in our web admin tool to specify different languages for your:

  • Products
  • Catalogs
  • Confirmation pages and emails
  • Customer support contact information

This allows you to localize the checkout process, which is available in several languages. To ensure a seamless customer experience, it's important to localize your information to match the checkout language.

Example

A customer is viewing the cart in German, but since your product information hasn't been localized in German, they must view it in English. By localizing your product information in German, all the text the customer sees will be in German, creating a consistent experience.

Manage languages

You can use the language bar to localize content. When you select a language, language-supported fields display the content for that language.

In CA, you can use the Highlight selector on the right-hand side of the action bar to see a visual indication of which fields support multiple languages. Select Language-supported fields from the drop-down list. For more information, see Highlight categories.
