Add a base product

A base product is a template that you can use to create an assortment of perpetual or recurring products with similar characteristics.

To create a base product in SCM, go to Configure > Manage Products, and from the three-dot menu, select Add Base Product.

Base products use the following shared settings:

• General settings
  • General product information
  • Product status
  • Internal product information
• Attributes
  • Product attributes
  • Cart and delivery texts
  • Product features and selection text
• Delivery settings
  • Delivery type
  • Key templates and delivery notes

Base product specifics

A base product does not have separate product-type-specific options. The peculiarity of this product type is that you can select it for a perpetual or recurring product to inherit information from the base product. For details, see Use base products.
